I have a first run Addy. I love her, but I have never really looked at a Mattel Addy. If it were me, though...I would ask for a new doll. I love that new doll smell...especially at Christmas!
Your Fiance is a "good boy", by the way!

Mine is oblivious to the hints as well..*grins* He wants to rename our black and white cat Licorice (from Lucky) and my parents Westie Coconut (from Cali)...
He never even knew those names 2 weeks ago-so I start to wonder...

does this mean there is a doll in store for me??
My fiancee tries to be inconspicuous, but seriously, we were talking about what we should get for our family members, and I asked him what he wanted for himself. He said "nothing" and informed me that he knew what he was getting me, for Christmas and my birthday (in Jan.). Then, not 30 seconds later he asked me the top three AG dolls on my list, and which ones I want PM or new. We got into a big discussion about why I want the ones I want, and which one I would buy with the "meet" accessories. . . .
So, ladies . . ..what does that sound like to you????
I told him that Addy was on the top of my list over and over again . . .

you know, I struggled with that one. I really wanted a PM Addy, but I have been outbid on ebay so many times that it isn't even worth it. I posted here asking what people thought who had Addy, and many of them said that the mattel ones lately have been really nice. Many of the Addy's on ebay have wrecked hair, and don't come with shoes. I bought a PM lissie off ebay that I regretted a little because her hair is shorter than it should be, and her hand is chewed.
So, I told him new.
But if a PM Addy comes up here on the board for sale, I may nudge the fiancee in this direction.
By the way, do you have any opinion about PM versus Mattel Addys? I basically heard that the PM addys have rosier cheeks and the softer eyelashes.

Jo,
No, no Emeralds but maybe someday I'll buy some from myself. My sister got a pair of Emerald Earrings last year for Valentines day and her husband got in trouble for it because they were set in Gold not Silver or Platinum. I wanted to say I'll take them but I think she made him take them back and get her some Emeralds set in Platinum Anyways, no Emeralds but I do have three adorable kids who will no doubt grow up to buy their DM some :-)!

You have the sweetest fiance. Enjoy him and your new dollie.
Dolls that are presents from other people are the best. Only one of my dolls was given to me - My PM Felicity, given to me in the early 90's by my grandma, even though she thought Lissie was ugly and I was too old for dolls! :-) Anyway, I really treasure Lissie, esp. now that Grandma is gone to her reward. So, this doll will be even more special to you because your fiance gave it to you.
